| Buying a horse is a big decision!!! ASK QUESTIONS....LOTS OF THEM!!! Don't see your question here??? Email us!!! |
| What's up with the "Used Horses For Sale" page names? Several years ago, we received a sign for our barn that bears that saying. Over the years, it has become something of a farm trademark! Is it safe to buy a horse from a "horse dealer"? Horse dealer, horse broker, horse trader.....these terms are used frequently to describe what we do. We make a living buying and selling horses. Its not something we do on the side - it is our full-time job. It is our job to place the correct horse with the correct owner. We cannot make a living by making poor matches for the sake of selling a horse! We WANT our customers to be happy! We WANT our horses to be in the right homes! Rest assured, we work very hard to see that happen! The best advertising is a happy customer! That is what we strive for! Do you deliver? Yes, we can deliver your new horse. We try, whenever possible, to coordinate delivery with a planned trip in your direction to save you money. Do you accept payments? Yes, we do accept short-term payments on a case by case basis. The horse cannot leave our property until it is paid for in full and boarding charges do apply from the date the down payment is made. Will you hold a horse until I can get there to see it? We cannot "hold" a horse without a non-refundable deposit. If you are traveling to see one of our horses, please remember that time is of the essence! Again, this is our livelihood. Asking us to hold a horse for a week until you can come and see it puts us in a bit of a predicament. Do you accept trade-ins? We do accept trade-ins but please be realistic in your expectations. Frequently, you will be better off to sell your current horse outright than relying on its trade value. Because you paid $2500 for a horse does NOT mean that we will allow you $2500 trade-in value!!! Likewise, an unbroke or unruly horse is not something we will trade for one of our safe trail mounts! What we allow for trade-in value is determined by several factors. It never hurts to ask but again, please be realistic in your trade expectations. Where do you get your horses? Our horses come from a wide variety of places. Private individuals, other brokers, breeding farms, horse sales......our horses hail from all over the country. We travel weekly to look at and purchase horses. Why did the previous owner get rid of this horse/why was this horse at a sale? Horses come to us for many reasons and just because a horse ended up at a horse sale or with a broker does not mean that "there's something wrong with it". People get divorced, lose their job, become ill, lose interest in horses, or just move on to another mount. Sometimes, people buy a horse that is too advanced for them or not suitable for their abilities. You don't currently have a horse that suits my needs. Can you find one for me? YES!!! While we try to have a varied selection of horses to suit our varied customer base, we realize that we may very well not have exactly what you are looking for when you contact us. Don't lose heart! Tell us what you want.....age, sex, breed, ability, etc. We will try to find it for you. We literally look at hundreds of horses every week and are happy to seek out a horse that fits your needs. We do maintain a "wish list" book just for that! Asking us to find a horse for you does not obligate you to purchase that horse. If we find one that seems like it will fit, we will call you to come and see. If its not a match, that's perfectly ok.....we will try again! I want to sell my horse but I'm not sure how to go about it...help! We sell horses on consignment for our customers and are happy to help you out. If you prefer to sell your horse yourself and are unsure how to go about it, please contact us and ask! We can help to point you in the right direction and give you a list of resources to use. Still have questions??? Drop us an email or give us a call!!! |
